    Berry Compote Recipe

        150g (1/2 cup) cranberry sauce
        55g (1/4 cup) caster sugar
        125ml (1/2 cup) water
        1 tablespoon cherry liqueur (like Kirsch)
        800g mixed berries (hulled strawberries - halved if large, raspberries, blueberries and/or blackberries)
        4 slices brioche, toasted, buttered, to serve
        Cinnamon sugar, to sprinkle

    Berry Compote Recipe

        Step 1

        Place the cranberry sauce, sugar, water and cherry liqueur in a medium saucepan. Stir over medium-low heat until the sugar dissolves.
        Step 2

        Increase heat to high and bring to the boil. Reduce heat to medium and simmer, uncovered, for 15 minutes or until the mixture is thick and syrupy.
        Step 3

        Stir in the berries and cook for 1-2 minutes or until the berries soften slightly. Sprinkle the brioche with cinnamon sugar and serve with the warm compote.
