8 Ways to Boost Your Water Intake Fall

Water is essential for the body and it’s important to provide your body with enough water each day. However, drinking enough water daily is not always easy. Since I can’t drink even 3 glasses of plain water every day, I’m always on the lookout for new and tasty ways to boost my daily water intake. I try to add new ingredients to my water and this helps me to stay hydrated and energized throughout a day.

Many of us think that milk, juice or soda can keep us hydrated as well. But it’s actually untrue. I do agree that milk is a healthy drink, but juice and soda are loaded with empty calories and sugar, along with other fillers and chemicals that are harmful to your health.

During the fall and winter months, you might not feel like drinking a lot of water because of the cold weather, but it’s as crucial to drink up during the fall season as it’s during the summer months. Not only does water improve your overall health, it also helps to fight acne and keep your skin healthy. If you are looking to boost your water intake, here are a few drinks you may want to try right now.

    1. Ginger Lemon Water
Some of my favorite ingredients to add to plain water are ginger and lemon. I’m a lemon water fan, but I also love ginger since it has anti-inflammatory properties and it helps my digestion. Lemon water has fantastic health benefits. It helps detoxify the body, relieve a lot of digestion problems, boost your immune system, and many more.
In fall, I usually add a few slices of ginger and lemon to hot water and enjoy this majestic drink in the morning or in the evening after a stressful day. If you want a refreshing drink, then add a sliced up lemon and an inch of fresh and peeled ginger to a pitcher of cold, filtered water, and put it in the fridge for an hour. You’ll have a healthy, refreshing beverage that will help you boost your daily water intake.

    2. Strawberry Mint Water
During the strawberry season, I always try to refrigerate as many strawberries as possible, because I know that I will need these tasty berries in fall and winter. Strawberry mint water is one of the most delicious ways to stay hydrated during the day as well as boost your immune system. The great news is that your children can enjoy this drink too!
Mint kills harmful bacteria and viruses (which is very important during the fall and winter seasons) and strawberries help to prevent heart disease, improve memory, strengthen your immune system, prevent diabetes and constipation and have many other wonderful benefits. Add 2 sliced strawberries and several fresh mint leaves to a cup of cold or hot water and enjoy a delis beverage.
If you want to make strawberry mint water for the whole family, fill a pitcher with warm water, add in a cup of cut strawberries and as many fresh mint leaves as you want. Mint has its last harvest in the fall, so you won’t have any problems when looking for fresh mint for your drink.

    3. Clementine Pear Water
Clementine and pear are awesome ingredients to add to plain water. If you don’t like pears, you can use only clementine in your water, or add a few slices of apple to it. Pear aids in weight loss, improves digestion, improves heart health and has antiseptic properties. Clementines are high in vitamin C, potassium, beta-carotene and low in sugar and calories. They are known to help slow the aging process.
Just fill a pitcher with water, add a few clementine sections and a thinly sliced pear, and let it stand for a few hours. You can also add a few dried cranberries or fresh blueberries to it. Sometimes I add a slice of lime to my clementine pear water to make the taste a little bit different.

    4. Apple Cinnamon Water
Apple cinnamon water is well known for its metabolism boosting and detoxing properties. I think this is a perfect drink for fall and winter. After all, who doesn’t like apples or cinnamon? Apples are high in antioxidants, and they help protect your eyes and heart. Plus, they are low in calories. Cinnamon naturally regulates blood sugar, helps prevent diabetes and boost your energy levels.
Fill a pitcher with water, a diced apple (make sure it’s organic one!) and add a couple of cinnamon sticks. Let it stand for a few hours or place it in the fridge. Before replacing the cinnamon sticks and apples, you can refill your pitcher a few times. I often add a little bit of lemon juice to my apple cinamon water to make this drink healthier.

    5. Rosemary Water
Perhaps you are surprised to see rosemary water on this list and it might not sound delicious, but first give it a try and then say that it’s not delicious. Rosemary is a healthy herb that is a great addition to almost anything you eat and drink. It has substances that help boost your immune system, improve blood flow and reduce inflammation.
Add a few rosemary springs to a pitcher of water and let it stand for a few hours. You can also add a few slices of cucumber or lime or lemon to it. Cucumbers help to control blood pressure, fight cancer and diabetes, and keep your kidneys healthy. Lime helps prevent formation of kidney stones, remove harmful bacteria, relieve stomach discomfort and reduce bloating.

    6. Raspberry Blueberry Water
Strawberries are not the only berries that I freeze in summer. Raspberries are one of my favorite berries that I love to add to plain water. Raspberries offer a bounty of health benefits. They are rich in antioxidants, vitamins, iron and fiber, and they help prevent cancer, strengthen the uterus, relieve morning sickness, and can even prevent age-related cognitive decline.

Recently I’ve tried raspberry blueberry water and just felt in love with it. This drink has a unique flavor and it boasts even more health benefits than raspberry water. The thing is, bluberries support heart health, prevent urinary tract infections, prevent inflammation, constipation and cancer, and they are also good for your skin and hair. Now that you know the benefits of this healthy drink, why not try right now?

    7. Orange Cinnamon Ginger Water
Want to try something unusual this fall? Opt for orange cinnamon ginger water, you won’t regret it. You already know about cinnamon and ginger and their amazing health benefits. Oranges are high in vitamin C and powerful antioxidants. They help to boost your energy levels, fight cancer, and prevent heart attacks.
This fall drink contains no added sugar, no harmful additives and no calories. Slice an orange into rings, peel and slice fresh ginger root and toss them in a pitcher of water. Add in a few cinnamon sticks and let it stand for an hour. You can also add a squeeze of lime or lemon (or both) to it. Enjoy this tasty and healthy beverage and increase your daily water intake at the same time!

    8. Lemon Lavender Water
If you lead a busy and stressful lifestyle, lemon lavender water will be a perfect drink to enjoy in the evening. I love the smell of lavender; it relaxes me and helps me fall asleep faster and sleep better. When you pair lavender with lemon, you get a wonderful drink that has plenty of health benefits. Add a sliced lemon and 1/2 a cup of fresh or dried lavender to a pitcher of plain water and let it sit in the fridge for a couple of hours.
When it comes to boosting a daily water intake during the fall season, the possibilities are endless. Plain water is a little bit boring thing so jazz it up with the ingredients mentioned in this little article and you will stay hydrated each day and each season. You can use either hot or cold water to make these beverages, depending on the weather. These beverages are diet-friendly as well as budget-friendly. What’s your favorite way to stay hydrated during the fall season?
