Za'atar is a Middle Eastern spice mixture, made from blending sumac,
toasted sesame, dried herbs (oregano/thyme/marjoram) and salt. It is
often blended with olive oil and eaten as a dip with pita bread, or
spread on dough and baked (manakeesh) or added to lebneh, sprinkle over
salad, kebab, koffta.
