Ingredients
500g granny smith apples, peeled, cored, diced
2 tablespoons caster sugar
1 tablespoon lemon juice
pinch mixed spice
10g butter

Method
Step 1
Combine apple and 1/3 cup cold water in a saucepan over medium heat. Simmer, covered, for 10 minutes or until apple is soft. Add sugar, juice, mixed spice and butter. Stir to combine. Remove from heat. Set aside for 5 minutes to cool.
Step 2
Remove apple mixture to a food processor. Process until smooth. Serve warm or cold.
